Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using Vamio ("the App"), you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the App. We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use Vamio. If you are under 18, you represent that a parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf. By creating an account, you confirm that the information you provide is accurate.
Users located in the European Economic Area must be at least 16 years old to use Vamio without parental consent. Some EU member states set a lower threshold (13–15); in those jurisdictions local law applies.
3. Account Responsibilities
You sign in using Apple Sign-In or Google Sign-In. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activity that occurs under it. Notify us immediately at support@vamio.app if you suspect unauthorized access.
You may delete your account at any time from Profile → Delete Account. Your personal data is removed from production systems within minutes. See our account deletion page and Privacy Policy for full details.
4. How Vamio Works
Vamio lets you coordinate group road trips ("drives") in real time. You create a drive, share an invite code with friends, and everyone's live location appears on a shared map during the drive. Drives also include group chat for participants.
5. Location Data Consent
Vamio's core feature requires access to your device's location. By joining a drive, you consent to sharing your real-time location with other participants in that drive. Location sharing begins when you join a drive and stops when the drive ends or you leave it. You can pause location sharing at any time during a drive.
Location updates continue when the App is not in the foreground — for example, while you use a navigation app during the drive. See our Location Info page for details.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use Vamio for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws.
- Harass, threaten, or abuse other users through chat or any other feature.
- Share objectionable, harmful, or illegal content in drive chats.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts or data.
- Interfere with the App's operation, including reverse-engineering or tampering with its systems.
- Use the App while driving in a manner that distracts from safe operation of a vehicle. Vamio is a coordination tool — always follow local traffic laws and drive safely.
7. User Content
You retain ownership of content you create in the App, including chat messages and photos shared in drives. By posting content, you grant Vamio a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, display, and transmit that content to other drive participants as part of the service.
You are solely responsible for the content you share. We may remove content that violates these Terms or applicable law. You can report objectionable messages and block users within the App.
8. Content Moderation and Safety
Vamio provides tools to help maintain a safe environment:
- Report: You can report messages and users that violate these Terms. Reports are reviewed and may result in content removal or account suspension.
- Block: You can block users to prevent them from interacting with you. Blocked users are not notified.
Reports of objectionable content or abusive users are acted on within 24 hours. We may remove content, suspend accounts, or take other measures as warranted. Users can block other users from within the app to prevent future contact. We reserve the right to investigate reports, remove content, and suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
9. Intellectual Property
The App, including its design, code, graphics, and branding, is owned by Vamio and protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our trademarks, logos, or other brand elements. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the App without our written permission.
10. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to Vamio at any time, with or without notice, if you violate these Terms or if we reasonably believe your use poses a risk to other users or our systems. You may stop using the App and delete your account at any time.
Upon account termination (by you or by us), your personal data is removed from production systems within minutes and unlinked from your profile. Encrypted backups are overwritten within 90 days via standard Google Cloud backup rotation. You may request data export before termination by emailing support@vamio.app. Users terminated for policy violations may appeal by contacting support within 30 days.
11. Disclaimers
Vamio is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not guarantee that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.
Vamio is not a navigation app. Do not rely on it for driving directions. Always use a dedicated navigation app and follow traffic laws. We are not responsible for any incidents that occur during drives coordinated through the App.
Location accuracy depends on your device and network conditions. We do not guarantee the precision or availability of location data.
SOS feature is not a substitute for emergency services. In a real emergency, always contact your local emergency services directly (911 in the United States, 112 in the European Union, or your local equivalent). Vamio's SOS feature is designed to notify your convoy group and is not connected to emergency responders. Location accuracy depends on device GPS and may be delayed or unavailable. Do not rely on Vamio as your primary safety tool.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Vamio and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App, including but not limited to loss of data, personal injury, or property damage.
Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall not exceed the amount you paid to use the App (which is currently zero, as Vamio is free).
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the Service will be resolved in the courts of Bangalore, Karnataka, except where mandatory consumer protection law requires otherwise.
14. Apple Licensed Application EULA
iOS users: Your use of Vamio on iOS is also governed by Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement available at https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/. In the event of any conflict between these Terms and Apple's EULA, Apple's EULA governs on iOS.
15. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the App or by updating the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
